"Fiddler's Green" is the ultimate showcase for this writer's considerable talent.

I wouldn't spend a lot for it, but it was a good enough read that I finished reading it.
This story of courage, love, and changing battlefield warfare blends well-researched military history with romantic fiction, and is a great read for those who like war stories, deftly written by an author famed for his "lustrous prose" (Washington Post) excellent literary technique, and brilliant insight into his characters. I loved the story from beginning to end. I read anything that has Maynard Allington's name on it, and being able to access his works on is an economic bonanza, so don't miss this one, and I know you'll love all the other Allington stories, too. I thought the "Fox in the Field" is another five star hit he has written, even though my all time favorite Maynard Allington work is "Courtyard of Blue Shadows," a different and riveting view of the holocaust from a wholly unimagined viewpoint. Great writing! Enjoy!
